Statement
Mary Bukoski currently lives in Milwaukee, WI. She completed her B.F.A. in Metals/Jewelry/CAD-CAM at Temple University in 2017.
In her art jewelry work, Mary focuses on exploring the compositional movement in the objects she builds. The toy-like quality and colors in her work create an abstracted form of the sea-life shapes they are inspired by. She enjoys investigating the connection, transition, and combination of different materials, such as 3D printed nylon, photopolymers, and cast silicone. She is inspired by the prints of Ernst Haeckel, a German biologist and artist who studied artistic symmetry in the natural world.
Mary also continues this symmetry and flowing designs into her fine jewelry work. While the materials may differ, leaning towards precious metals and gemstones, the organic forms stay consistent. Nothing is more important to her than the client experience, and she works to bring the beauty and elegance of the natural world into her client's pieces, creating a piece that is meant to last a lifetime.
